Blow-wives (Achyrachaena mollis)

To get around the fact of shallow depth of field encountered in close up photography, one technique, called "focus stacking" or "depth of field stacking" uses a series of pictures of the object, each focused slightly further "into" the object.

The slices are then merged into a single image, hopefully with the entire subject in sharp focus.
